I'm Molly, a typical sushi, makeup, and fashion loving millennial girl who just so happens to be blind! I was diagnosed with Retinitis Pigmentosa at just 4 years old and began public speaking at age 5. I started just doing motivational speaking, but now I make videos and even model! Even though I can’t see, I know that there are bright spots in everything we face. Let’s find them together. 💕

  • I aspire to have a closet as big as hers

  • It makes me sad to hear that she would get rid of items just because they aren’t “in style” anymore. If you like it, you like it! I think part of being fashionable is having the confidence to venture out and do your own thing. If you’re only buying something for other people to see it, are you really stylish or are you just wearing the same trendy pieces that everyone else is wearing? Also, it’s sad to hear that she thinks she can only wear something a few times before getting rid of it, I love Molly but that’s so wasteful. P.S. If you love the jeans so much you can have them taken in, I know she can afford to lol.

  • I’m sure Molly was only talking about her size difference to justify cleaning out her closet, but after awhile the talk about weight and size and inches lost seemed a bit excessive to me. I know that she’s 4’10 so is naturally very petite, I’m just thinking about the young girls watching this and thinking that they need to be a zero too, or anyone with an ed who has a hard time hearing about someone’s weight loss. But to be fair, she was filming for hours and someone else edits her footage so I’m sure she didn’t even realize how it sounded.

  • 1. Molly has said before that she uses fashion as a form of self expression. It is an important part of her identity, especially considering her journey being blind. To those that think she is being excessive with her clothes, keep that in mind. 2. Yes, she talked about losing weight and being a size 0 a lot in this video. I am a size 18. Did it make me feel self-conscious about my weight? Uh, yeah. Should she have put a trigger warning for those that have eating disorders? Yes. But also--and keep this in mind--HER JOURNEY IS NOT YOUR JOURNEY. Molly's pace is not your pace. Stop comparing yourself to where she is in her life. Be proud of where you are in your journey, right now, in this moment. At the same time, be proud of where Molly is. She has worked hard as heck to be the strong woman she is today, and does not deserve people constantly criticizing her.

    Debbie ThomasDebbie ThomasVor 3 Monate
    • Is she not allowed to discuss her experience and feelings about her body just because she might be smaller than some other people? She's not talking about those people or saying anything about their size. Shes talking about her own body and how she feels about it. While I sympathize with other people's insecurities (I've struggled with eating disorders and body dysmorphia) we need to stop taking everything someone says about themselves and somehow making it about us.

There were a few coats I didn’t get rid of because I need to get replacements for them first but otherwise everything else I will now use.

  • Tip for donating bras- sharing ships generally won’t take bras because they are classed as underwear and seen as unhygienic. However if they are still in good condition then there are one or two charities that will take bras that then give them to women in need. So I’d suggest looking up online to find where to send your unwanted bra’s.

So there’s no way she could’ve read the words on that first crew beck or known colors or known literally what any of the stuff she was picking up is. Like what?

  • I personally feel like the video focused way to much on weight. Even myself. Someone who doesn’t really have many body confidence issues. I go to the gym. I eat a balance diet. I’m a healthy weight for my size. I’m only a UK 8/10 which is only like a US 4/6 I realise she’s talking about my size in this negative way. Like she’s repulsed she ever used to be my size. Talking about her past weight in a negative way. It seriously made me look in the mirror when I took a shower after this video and think so do I need to lose more weight? Am I not slim? I’m only 20, ofc im slim. I’m only 140lbs. But I can understand why this would be triggering to people with significant body confidence issues cause I don’t usually get them. Don’t get me wrong I compare myself to people every now and then but who doesn’t. Sometimes it’s hard. But I could see how this could really set of someone with an ED. I feel like here molly is perpetuating that size 0 is the best size and that’s not really good. Whether intentional or not ...

She's is also very fortunate to have a mom who would clearly sacrifice everything for her daughter. There are really not many moms who would leave their husband, their country, and their whole life really, to live with her daughter so she can help her to follow her dreams. Molly's mom is an unsung hero in this story. Without her selfless support and encouragement, I don't know how life would have turned out for Molly. Not everybody gets such an incredible mom, and I'm so glad that Molly was blessed with her.

Maybe try thinking about what I said for a minute if you're going to open a dialog about it. She talked about needing a new pair of this or a new set of that when, in total, she could already wear a new outfit every day of the month without repeats with what she had left over from her purge. Buying more stuff is just generating more waste over time, all because we're taught to experience lack, even when surrounded by abundance, which she is perpetuating.
