I'm Molly, a typical sushi, makeup, and fashion loving millennial girl who just so happens to be blind! I was diagnosed with Retinitis Pigmentosa at just 4 years old and began public speaking at age 5. I started just doing motivational speaking, but now I make videos and even model! Even though I can’t see, I know that there are bright spots in everything we face. Let’s find them together. 💕

  • I started tearing up when you were talking about having no friends and your mom becoming your best friend because that is exactly what happened to me. I went through a lot of bullying and lost all my friends in the 10th grade and then got very depressed/suicidal. So my mom became my best friend and we started doing everything together, she is still my best friend to this day and I love and appreciate her so much❤️

  • yeah I think the mum and dad vocab can put people in the subconscious box of being other than their 'own self' but instead a 'machine', the respect is different; 'mum' can be less respected because it's her role as a mum to be of 'your service'...whereas 'Neve' is her own person, she gave birth to you but she is her unique person and shall be respected, its phycologically a healthy boundary and I like it.

Hearing that she had to sleep in her parents room, I don’t know it just it shows a lot of humanity and it has helped me understand her a little bit better. It really goes to show just how much she has gone through and the journey she has been on to end up being such a wonderful positive person. She’s always been that person inside, but she had to work to let it show and to let it feel natural. She is amazing ❤️

  • How much can you see?

    Shelly BradburyShelly BradburyVor 5 Monate
    • What she has said is she has light perception, and she sees her “fireworks” which are basically just flashing colourful things shes sees 24/7. “A picture is worth 1,000 words” literally. The human eye sees at up to 60 FPS - no coincidence that’s the max of many screens/videos/etc. So, assuming that that saying is true, 1000x60 = 60000 so, we would need 6,000 words to describe just 1 second of our vision. It’s very hard to explain what we can see.

      Joseph SeabourneJoseph SeabourneVor 2 Monate
  • For everyone who comments about Molly interrupting, have you ever been in a conference call without video? If you have you’ve probably experienced how hard it can be not to interrupt people/to add to the conversation without interrupting others because you can’t see the other people and get those visual cues. So maybe consider that before being rude?

    Katherine WKatherine WVor 5 Monate
    • Yeah, social skills are the hardest thing for a blind person. 90% of human communication is visual.

  • Just seeing this vlog❣️ LOVE your positivety❣️ My mom's youngest sister is blind.. I wish she would have had the opportunities in life that you have had. She is now in her 70's and VERY ISOLATED 😥. Even though she has 2 children & multiple grandchildren. Her life-partner (I choose to call him my Uncle, since he has been in my life since before I was born).. even though he is neither of her son's fathers, has stayed by her side for near 50 years. She has had multiple guide dogs, but not many "people" friends. I personally haven't seen her in over 20+ years. The main reason for that is I live in Hawai'i and she lives on the Mainland. (Continental US). I have not seen any of my family unless they have come to see me😥❣️ I love what a STRONG BOND YOU HAVE WITH YOUR MOM❣️My Mom made her last trip out here to visit my family in 2018, for my middle child's High School Graduation! She at that point, told me, she would not be making any more trips out here. 😭!! Later that year, she fell and broke part of her back & pelvis. It was almost like an omen. I talk to her almost DAILY❣️ I don't know what I would do without her 🥰❣️ 💞 ALOHA FROM HAWAI'I 💞🌹 LYSSA 🌹

  • Me & my mom just had the same convo the other day about calling your parents by their first name & we both don’t understand it. Only time I ever call my mom by either of her first names (adopter name/orphanage name) is if I yell mom/momma 80 times & she doesn’t answer. Everyone always used to call my parents mom/dad too. I guess if you aren’t apart of a family who calls your parents by their first names it’s just weird.

My sister addresses my mom formally, whereas I address my mom informally. 4:38 You remind me of a teacher who insisted on being addressed by her first name. • So I see a lot of people talking about Molly’s tendency to speak over others - her mom in this instance - in the comments section. I would just like to add to the conversation by informing everyone that there is something called sensory input and motor output. When all of our senses are working properly I think it’s easy for us to be unaware of all of the cues - whether they be social, environmental, haptic, auditory, or visual - that we are constantly picking up in our interactions with other people. Sensory input is when the body gathers information through our various senses. After the brain has processed the information it’s gathered, impulses are then prompted from the brain and spinal cord to muscles and glands, which is called motor output. Someone may take a breath, have their eyes light up, etc that lets us know when to interject or pause during a conversation. These are all visual cues that Molly wouldn’t have due to her impaired sight. Molly’s channel is super informative, but there are other resources to learn about various sensory related disabilities, or disabilities in general as well. Above all, pls remember to be thankful for the many, many “small” things we take for granted every day including our ability to walk, talk, smell, taste, touch, hear and see.

    • I have a hearing disability. Once I was fitted with proper high technology advance hearing aids. My world change. My motor skills and cues that I didn't have suddenly improved dramically. Listening more and understanding brought more value into my conversation and relationships with others improved. I so glad that a friend turned me unto a audiologist who so happen for be hearing impaired brought the experience to a whole new level. And this same friend shared this video to me about Molly. This is more info and understanding and who we share similiar situations but from different disability.

My parents did the complete opposite and sheltered me and did not put me in any programs or let me go to any camps out of fear that something bad would happen to me. I understand why they would feel that way, but it definitely did its damage to me until I was about 20 years old. Mama B definitely did the right thing.
