I'm Molly, a typical sushi, makeup, and fashion loving millennial girl who just so happens to be blind! I was diagnosed with Retinitis Pigmentosa at just 4 years old and began public speaking at age 5. I started just doing motivational speaking, but now I make videos and even model! Even though I can’t see, I know that there are bright spots in everything we face. Let’s find them together. 💕

    • I was 22 by the time someone actually told me that I needed a larger cup size I had done basically the exact same thing you did: go for a small cup, but had to then go up in band size. I'm a 34D, but most of the tissue is at the bottom and out to the side. I do own ONE push-up bra, because it looks really great with this one party dress I have. Otherwise, I use lightly padded under-wired bras, because I like the stability and support without making things look smaller than they are!

  • Thank you a lot for this amazing video!!!! It is such an important topic and i've experienced the same... companies are selling you bras that don't really fit you. And even if you know your size and tell them in the store they won't belive you. And it's just like you said... just belive others their bra size cause why should you lie about having trouble finding the right one...

  • Oh boy do I have boob stories... I could write a book about it. My cup size is larger than the standard A, B, C, D sizes and I never had that round shape either. It was such a struggle! When my boobs started to grow, it was so nice because I fit into the standard sizes and I could wear whatever I wanted. People at school almost admired my chest. But of course, my boobs didn't quit growing and I would need new bras multiple times a year. Eventually, I didn't even fit into the largest standard size. The only place where I could find my size was in a big department store that had granny-style underwear. Great, that's what a teenage girl wants to be; a granny... No fun colors, no prints or contrast piping, not even black anymore for me. I was so self-conscious in the changing rooms for PE. My boobs also became less and less round as they grew. Everybody wanted big boobs because of the round cleavage. I couldn't complain because I had what people wanted; big boobs, and so people actually expected me to have round boobs. That is toxic pop culture for you. It was normal to expect teenage minors to have these round boobs like you see in adult content. Now that I'm 23 and the world has moved on, I can find some really beautiful bras in the right size in a small store that specializes in size inclusivity. If only that was around when I was in school.

I was sized at VS a couple years ago and was shocked finding out what my proper size was but then after trying on push up bras i came to the same conclusion as yourself, id rather be happy with how my boobs look without it. I honestly wear a tank-crop tops under my shirts. Good for you for being so positive with your body.

  • When I was in 7th grade girls always wore 4 bras at once. It was very obvious. I had full size D cups by 6th grade. It’s just genetic. Girls would tell me all the time that I’m wearing four or five bras at once when they were obviously wearing at least six bras and I had full size boobs. I got a breast reduction 3 years ago and am now a happy B!

  • I had this experience at victoria's secret, I'm similar to Molly with a small band of 30E / 32DD if they're not in stock! I found a bra in victoria secret that I liked but they didn't have it in my size, they fitted me and said i was a 34C!(which they had in stock). Luckily i was around 20 at the time and was well aware that wasn't my bra size and laughed and just left but if i was younger i would have totally believed them! it's so wrong that they get away with doing this, making younger girls waste their money, wear uncomfortable, ill fitting bras and damage their body image.

Even your story about having to accept that those companies didn't make push up bra's; I had the same thing, but it was accepting I couldn't have a padded bra (back in 2004-7 they didn't really make padded bras in bigger cup sizes, & I liked padded bra's because of the shape they gave)... • I had soooo so similar of a journey. I am a 32DD. I was wearing a 34D or 34C for so long and they were never comfortable. When I went down a band size and up a cup it was a whole new world. People have always said I have "big" boobs but when I would say I am a 32DD they would go "really"? And it made me question why my boobs didn't look like DD's. Even though I had a chest that my friends would tell me they wish they had I was constantly torn between getting a breast reduction or an augmentation.. Now I rarely wear bras unless they are sports bras and I love my boobs and would never want to chance breast implant sickness 🙃

  • I was super self-conscious about my chest when I was in high school, and in college I was more accepting of myself but I was still like, "Why don't bras feel comfortable?" so when I found r/abrathatfits it was a total game changer. I'd been wearing I think a 34B but I'm actually a 32C/32D (depending on the brand). I went to the Nordstrom at Mall of America and the woman who fit me was so nice and so reassuring to me that no, I wasn't an idiot for not knowing this stuff before. I still have her business card somewhere in my desk. This was back in like, 2012 so it might be a good idea to get resized but that'll have to wait for everything to calm down a bit. Something I remember her pointing out to me that wasn't mentioned in the video (don't blame you, it's not a problem for everyone) is that one way to tell if a bra fits is whether or not the gore (the thing that hooks the cups together) lies flat. Mine had been like, sticking out like half an inch from my chest. When she pointed that out it was like, "OHHHHHHHH of course!" I might need to show this to my niece at some point, she's eight and she's already started wearing bras (I didn't wear one until I was twelve) but my sister probably has a reason 🤷🏻‍♀️

  • This video made me cry. I'm a plus size woman and my entire life I have heard people (including friends and family) tell me that I should wear body shaping clothes or shapewear to "smooth everything out". I was always terrified to do so because that's not what I looked like. I never wanted to take off my clothes and feel worse about how I looked without the shapewear. I already struggle with my confidence. Thank you SO MUCH for this video. Knowing there are people who think like me, who want to be comfortable with how they look naturally, makes me feel amazing. It's my body and I want to love every inch of it when I look in the mirror. You're amazing, and again, thank you.

  • I am 17 years old and I started developing early. When I was growing I could never get the right bra size. I remember in grade 9 my mom took me to a more professional bra store. I got measured and when I put on the bra they gave me i remember thinking, I didn't know a bra could be this comfortable. I have now gone to the same bra place for 4 years and I am a 32F. One thing I think people need to know is that having an abnormal bra size is a very expensive thing. The cheapest bra I own is probably $75

  • Also! Lady’s and young girls, wearing no bra strengths your muscles. Research. A lot of things made for women came from suppression by the men. We don’t need bras. Always do your research. I could go on and on. Never trust anyone. Another example would be a doctor. They don’t give a flying rats ass if you feel like you have something wrong and they can’t find it. You could have cancer or something else. Always get second, third, fourth Ext. opinion. Remember they aren’t correct that there’s nothing wrong if you feel in your bones somethings wrong. You have to be your own advocate in this society. Hope this made sense, don’t want to type too much. Stay strong.

I've seen a few videos about small breast and many give tips on hiding it and say that it's good to have small breast because "it looks cute, it's not vulgar, ppl like you for you", but when that's all you hear from a bunch of ppl, it feels like they're saying "don't worry, you look like a cute kid! isn't that nice?" I love how u just talked about it being normal, and how it made me notice that I always found you gorgeous and feminine, and never paid attention to your breast size. I really loved the video Molly :)

Or is a sister size the polite way of saying they just “good enough,” yet not truly as properly fitting as a 30D?

  • As someone who's always worn the wrong size up until this year when I made myself go and get professionally sized at a boutique with people who went to school on these matters and have been in the business more than a decade... I loved this video! I almost didn't watch but I'm glad I did. After my first training bras, I was always sized wrong in every store, in person, or online. Victoria's Secret, Macy's, Kohls, adore me, third love, Etc... I finally just started buying the best fitting bra’s I could find from Walmart or Target for several years (which were still completely wrong but they were better than when I went for getting sized- and cheaper initallly). It was so defeating and damaging and really had negative impacts on my self-esteem and how I viewed myself. It was also painful at times for my shoulders and back and underarms but I couldn't do anything about it. I went through a phase of only wearing sports bras, which were still the wrong size but at least they weren't painful after a couple hours of wear. After making it my birthday gift to myself this year, (I turned 23 in March) I forced myself to go to an actual boutique that's been doing bras/lingerie/sizing/etc with trained professionals for over a decade. Best thing I did for myself in a while! I never would have guessed what my true size was before this year. I was wearing a 36C/38C. I figured I was probably supposed to be in a D cup... Not a shocker, they were the wrong sizes. In reality, I’m a 40 DDD/E. I had been saving my money up for the appointment and I bought myself 3 of the same bra (nude/gray/black) for my birthday (and some actual bra/lingere powder soap for cleaning and taking care of them properly) after deciding which style and brand fit me best and was the most comfortable and such for me. We actually decided on a European brand for my bras since they have a different cut than most typical American everyday T-shirt bras do (which I didn't even know was a thing beforehand)! For any ladies out there on the fence of getting sized at actual boutiques that specialize in bras/lingerie/boobs/lady things. Do your research on the places you can find near you and then DO IT if at all possible! It's worth it! Even if it means spending all of your birthday money you saved (like me) to buy bras because you're having to start from scratch on your bra collection... It’s worth it. :) Thank you for the video with such a good message and an appropriate way in spreading awareness about these issues to everyone who watches, Molly. I'm late to this video, but that doesn't make it any less impactful. God bless!

Which was annoying cus VS has really nice bras but they’re also very expensive and sometimes I just wanted to get a cute cheap bra but I couldn’t. I used to be very thin and was a 32C/32D and most places only sell a 32 band in A & B. Now after I had a baby I gained a bunch of weight and I’m at the opposite end and wear a 36DDD. And that’s even harder to find cus most places don’t even have a DDD option. I’m all about comfort rn and prefer to wear a sports bra/bralette style which is almost impossible to find anywhere in a big enough size to fit me correctly. In that style I find I need a 2X and I’d say 8/10 times the largest size they offer is a 1X. Just really frustrating. I used to always want bigger boobs when I was smaller but now that I have them I would kill to have my nice small boobs again.

  • This is such an amazing video! I'm the same bra size as you and also felt confused because I obviously am small chested. I think this video will really help women feel more empowered and comfortable in their own bodies

  • This is literally my exact story and experience. I'm a 30DD and nobody ever believes me and I spent my entire adolescence buying 32C. I always thought that was just how bras were supposed to fit ahaha. Finding out how to measure my size on my own was life changing

  • Thanks so much for this Molly! I really appreciated this video. When I was younger I struggled with finding my size. I am fairly large chested, but also have a lot of tissue that sits more on my side. Honestly it's only very recently that I've been learning about different breast shapes and that it's completely normal for me (even with a large chest) to not have that push up look. Thanks so much for sharing your journey!

  • I understand your struggle with bras. I'm typically between a 30 C and a 34 F. I think that what you're picking up on when sizing up is more that bras are uncomfortable, though. The smallest that I've ever been is a 00 pant with a 30 inch C cup. And I can tell you with absolute certainty that, if you can do anything without a bra on, you're not a C cup or larger. At most you're likely a B cup. If you're sizing up and still finding it comfortable, you're likely wearing a more fitted bra. Anything with an underwire and a full cup likely won't fit like a seamless or lace bra will. The real problem here is that the vast majority of bras just aren't comfortable and sizing up often gives you the room to let your chest breathe. But that isn't necessarily the correct fit if you really are larger chested and need the support. As someone who, even at my slimmest weight, is only a C cup, I can't sleep, lounge around the house, or walk in public without a bra on. The discomfort from standing alone is enough to, at the very least, put on a sports bra. Going braless or even wearing barrettes is entirely out of the question for anyone who's truly a C cup or larger.

  • I remember in the locker room for gym class (in high school) there were so many girls that tightened the straps of their bras so much to get as much lift as possible. But as a result, the back side of the band was going way too high up, because the straps were lifting it up in the back instead of giving more lift in the front.. looks ridiculous and doesn't support your boobs like intended 😅

  • Omg this video is life changing, I am a 25year old women with two children and have always had fairly 'big boobs' and found it very difficult to find a comfortable fitting bra even after being 'professionally' measured. Never new this information and just believe I would be forever uncomfortable when wearing a bra as they would never sit correctly, am now going to have a look a the sizing properly and when paid gonna get a properly fitted bra. Thank you so much. Ps you are fricking amazing keep up all your hard work, we need more people like you in the world :) xx
